Title: The Way of Incarnation
Year: 2023
Medium: Acrylic on canvas
Artist: Harry Rosenow
This painting marks a pivotal moment in Rosenow’s creative journey—when form, material, and meaning began to coalesce. The Way of Incarnation emerged as the artist worked through initial uncertainty, letting the act of painting itself reveal a direction.
Gravels and black sand collected from the Karakorum site were integrated into the surface, grounding the work in both place and presence. The result is a textured path—symbolic of life’s unfolding, of spirit taking shape through matter.
“Our story is an incarnation one,” Rosenow writes, “an embodiment of singular lives and collective paths, as we are part of the universal consciousness.” In this canvas, the universal becomes tangible: the invisible, made visible.
Harry Rosenow is a contemporary artist known for his intuitive painting style, where brushstrokes are guided by pigments and materials rather than premeditated plans. His work captures raw emotion and spontaneity, reflecting an unfiltered expression of what moves him.
He created this series of paintings in June and July 2023 in Karakorum, during his residency at the Steppe Art Residency, hosted by the Mongolian Calligraphy and Art Center.
